January 25 marks Burns Night, which celebrates the birthday and life of the Scottish poet Robert Burns. Burns was born in 1759 in Alloway, Scotland. His subjects are part of why he is considers Scotland’s national poet, not unlike some patron saint. His work forever immortalizes the spirit of the everyday Scotsman and their land. Every aspect of Burns Night takes aspects of Scottish culture and amplifies it with gusto.
