On October 2, 1959 ‘The Twilight Zone’ premieres on CBS. In 2019, the series will experience another revival under the direction of Jordan Peele.

During the show’s original run from 1959 to 1964, Americans were introduced to devices seen still today in shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and Medium.

During the original release, the series was known to begin with the same narration.

“There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to Man. It is a dimension as vast as space, and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition; and it lies between the pit of Man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call…the Twilight Zone.”

Rod Serling, Opening Narration

Since its initial classic release, The Twilight Zone has undergone several revivals. Peele’s new interpretation will be the most recent.
