On December 30, 1865, Rudyard Kipling is born in India. He is best known as the author of “The Jungle Book,” with which he shared many of his best known stories, including the short story of Rikki-Tikki Tavi. Like many of his stories, Kipling’s “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” takes place in India. It follows the adventures of a young and brave mongoose who is determined to guard his human family and home from the evil cobras who live in the garden.
