On December 10, 1815, Ada Lovelace is born. She is the only legitimate child of the poet Lord Byron and his wife Anne Isabella “Annabella” Milbanke, Lady Wentworth. She is credited by modern computer science as the world’s first computer programmer. Sydney Padua took the life of Lovelace and reimagined it into a steampunk graphic novel, The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage. The story follows Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage in an alternative universe where their analytical engine is successfully built and they use it to fight crime.
