On December 8, 1941, Japanese forces attack Pearl Harbor. U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt would mark it “a date which will live in infamy”. The attack prompts the the U.S. to declare war on Japan and enter into World War II. At Dawn We Slept takes on the American awareness of Japanese intentions in the year leading up to the attack. It questions how much of a surprise it truly was for the Americans and traces back how the attacked was planned and executed with such great effect by Japan.
